Seven warning signs

1.    Bed wetting

Bed wetting is nothing unusual, it’s common phenomenon among little children. It doesn’t seem to be anything to worry about but when bed wetting continues into puberty it could be a sign of significant emotional disturbance. According to the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit, 60% of sex-murderers were still suffering from bed wetting.

2.    Arson

There are some serial killers who have great experience with arson. They love destroying people’s property. Arson mostly starts at a young age with serial killers.

3.    Animal abuse

Animal torture may be the biggest warning sign on this list. There must be something wrong with you if you really love to hurt living creatures. A lot of serial killers fantasize about murder and act that out on animals.

4.    Alcohol and substance abuse

Alcohol and substance abuse can effect a child in very bad ways. But, it’s not always the people around them who are interested in alcohol and drugs. Some serial killers have struggled with drugs in their past themselves. Now as we know, drugs and alcohol can have quite the effect on people. For example; Jeffrey Dahmer was an alcoholic when he was studying and Richard Ramirez was also known for using drugs.

5.    Antisocial behavior

Antisocial behavior is not immediately something to worry about since some children are very shy and don’t develop their social skills very fast. However, when they don’t at all it could be a warning sign. Many serial killers showed to have no interest in other people and were more focused on themselves. If a child goes from social to extremely anti-social, that could be a very strong warning sign.

6.    Childhood abuse

Many serial killers come from a terrible childhood filled with abuse (physical, mental and sexual), criminal history, alcohol and substance abuse. Most serial killer come from an environment like this. If you know their history it’s no wonder that they aren’t social butterflies with a normal life. The history of their youth not only influences them and the way they grow as people but it also hunts them forever.

7.    Intelligence

Most serial killers have an above-average IQ. However, that’s doesn’t mean that they show it. Some serial killers, like Jeffrey Dahmer (IQ 145), were very intelligent. But they didn’t like school and they didn’t put much effort into studying.
